Rewards of Clinic Supervision

“[N]othing beats that feeling of just seeing the growth in students. From day one, we see students who can’t write properly, don’t know how to even start a letter, how to draft a letter to somebody, don’t know where stamp goes on an envelope that you’re mailing out to a client. There’s so many skills that they learn and to just see the actual growth that they have from the time they start with us until the time they end is definitely rewarding. The joy that you get to see on their faces after they’ve accomplished something really good for a client whether that be at a hearing or whether that just be by resolution, they take pride in that …. It’s also rewarding to just hear from the other [lawyers] just how much they’ve been able to see an improvement in the students.” (14)
