Rewards of Clinic Supervision

“I’ve had students that I’m so proud of and I know that they’ll go on to do amazing things. And they’re already… working at labour law firms and clinics and having major impacts. So one case we worked on we helped support the community of [de-identified], a woman who had experienced racial discrimination and died in a… hospital. And we supported their community; we filed complaints with special rapporteurs… Our complaint made the national news and it was drafted mostly by students, like their names on the documents and they all felt really compelled by the story… [T]hey were involved in meeting with the community, and to see just the national press that we got, I think they felt really empowered by that. And yeah, I could see the fire in their belly that was ignited, it was really good.” (5)
